Color Recipe:
Cut 2x6's to size and sand out imperfections with a 50 grit metal fiber sanding disk.
Sand boards up to 220 grit to prepare for staining.
Stain boards with Minwax true black stain.
Lay down Tyvek tape on 1/8" sheet of masonite to prepare for the Gluing process.
Build your form and assemble your table boards.
Mix SCC epoxy and brush epoxy onto the board edges and squeeze them together tightly. Tighten the mold.
Torch out any air bubbles in the epoxy.
After 24 hours un-clamp and de-mold the table.
Plane the table with SCC's Slab jig
Install 3/4" square steel bars for support with SCC Quick Coat gap and seam filler.
Mix another batch of Quick Coat gap and seam filler, add the thickening powder and tint with SCC Black metallic powder.
Spread the tinted quick coat over any gaps and cracks in your table.
Sand off the excess quick coat with a 50 grit metal fiber sanding disk.
Sand project from 60 grit to 220 grit with a random orbital sander.
Router the top edges of the table with a 1/4" round over bit and the bottom edges of the table with a 1/8" round over bit.
Stain the top side of the table
Mix SCC epoxy and apply your seal coats at 1oz of mixed epoxy per square foot.
Wait 24 hours in between coats and sand lightly with 220 grit sand paper before your next seal coat.
Apply a total of 3 seal coats.
Use a burn in stick on any stubborn pinholes.
Sand your table with 220 grit sand paper before applying the flood coat.
Mix SCC epoxy and apply your flood coat at 3 oz of mixed epoxy per square foot.
Pour, trowel, and chop the surface.
Torch.

Color Recipe:
Paint and Primer in One: Broadway (Black)
Mix SCC epoxy and pour some of the epoxy into 3 separate cups.
Tint the main cup of epoxy with SCC Black base color tint.
Tint the smaller batches with SCC Brown, Bright Silver, and Pearl metallic colors.
Pour the black tinted epoxy onto the project, trowel, and chop the surface.
Torch the bubbles out
Pour the tinted metallic color batches into one cup on top of each other.
Pour this epoxy mixture onto the project in veins.
Tilt the project to move the veins.
Drizzle lines of the tinted epoxy through your project with a paint stick.

How To Transform Epoxy into Blue Granite, is a step by step free video training that covers advanced epoxy color technique, tips, and tricks. Learn how to time your project and get veins, fractures, blue iridescence, realistic marbleizing, and more. Take your epoxy business to the next level and learn how to finish like a pro!
Color Recipe:
Behr paint and primer in one: Broadway (Black)
Fog Navy blue, Ocean Mist, Cobalt blue, Sea Side, Sage green, and Gold Rustoleum spray paints over your project.
Mix SCC Epoxy and split into several smaller clear cups.
Tint 1 of these cups with Cobalt Blue spray paint, Pour and spread randomly over the project using your gloved hands.
Repeat his with Navy Blue, and Gold spray paints, Pour and spread randomly.
Fog Sage green and Gold spray paints over the surface of the project.
Tint a cup of clear epoxy with SCC Black base color tint.
Pour this in random areas to mimic deposits and then some thinner lines around the project to mimic fractures. Work these into the epoxy well with a paint stick.
Fog on SCC Gold metallic powder mixed with 91% IPA over the project as desired.
Repeat this with SCC Ocean Blue and Black metallic powders mixed with 91% IPA.
Pour some clear epoxy in random areas for awesome effects.
Mix SCC Purple mountain metallic powder into a small cup of clear epoxy, and outline the "black deposit" areas. Drizzle as desired.
Mist with more Ocean Blue and Gold metallic powder IPA mixture.
Spray Gold spray paint in some areas and drizzle purple metallic tinted epoxy through these areas to mimic deposits.
Repeat this with Cobalt Blue spray paint and drizzle/drag the purple metallic tinted epoxy through these areas as well.
Mist with SCC Black metallic powder mixed with 91% IPA..
Make these "deposit effects" as big or small as you like!
Layer your effects for a truly awesome experience.
Spray Sage green spray paint onto the end of a paint stick and drag this through the black areas of your project as desired.
Pour clear epoxy onto the project as veins.
Spray Ocean Mist and White spray paint onto the end of a paint stick and drag through the clear veins you just poured.
Drizzle some of the purple metallic tinted epoxy through these veins and repeat with the black tinted epoxy if desired.
Torch to move color and veins for realistic effects.
Fog Cobalt Blue spray paint over the project to meld and blend everything together.
OPTIONAL STEP: Allow some epoxy to set up in a cup for an hour or so and tint it with some of the SCC Black base color tint.
Drizzle and drag/pull this over the project to create additional fractures with the thicker epoxy.
Use a heat gun or torch carefully to move color and effects.
Use 3 mill thick plastic sheeting approx. 1 hour into the project to push down on your project and lift up the plastic sheeting for a cool effect!Torch to remove any air bubbles left behind.
24 hours later, Mix SCC Epoxy, Pour, Trowel, and Chop the surface.
Torch to remove air.
Mist SCC Ocean Blue metallic powder mixed with 91% IPA over the project.
Use a bondo spreader to "skip trowel" the epoxy around your project. Torch 3x

For optimal adhesion please follow these instructions. This is a 4 step process when applying the Stone Coat Platinum.
Step 1: Use 1 ounce per square foot of Stone Coat Platinum as a wash coat aka undercoat. (Avoid using our epoxy undercoat with the Stone Coat Platinum, the water off-gassing may cause poor adhesion.) The wash coat will replace the undercoat when using our Platinum system. A wash coat is applied by tinting the Platinum with our dye then using a large popsicle stick or squeegee to spread a thin coat that's tinted to hide the color of the substrate. When coating over existing non-porous materials such as laminate, be sure to create visible scratches in the surface using mechanical sanding to promote adhesion. Bonding primer can also be applied but be sure the water has fully escaped prior to installing the Stone Coat Platinum. The purpose of a wash coat is to promote adhesion by pushing the coating into the substrate as well as adding an undertone color to hide the original color of the substrate.
Step 2: As soon as the wash coat is applied you can add the color coat. The color coat is the decorative process of applying our color additives including Dye, Metallic Powder, and Spray Paint. Mix 3 ounces per square foot of Platinum for this coat.
Step 3: The clear coat is applied the next day. Sand with 120 grit sanding discs using a random orbital sander. Wipe with xylene, then apply the clear coat. We mix 3 ounces per square foot of the Stone Coat Platinum for this coat. As we have continued testing adhesion in all climates and temperatures we advise this method of application. (As soon as the xylene is flashed or dry, pour the clear coat because the xylene is going to make the color coat sticky which will promote optimal adhesion)
Step 4: Apply the Ultimate top coat for extreme scratch resistance, a natural sheen, and ultimate durability. Follow the instructions for the Ultimate Top Coat.
This Stone Coat Platinum system differs from our other products because it's been designed for the professional installer who has a need for a fast turnaround time and the ultimate non yellowing hybrid coating technology.
