Three different countries, three murder cases. Three men who have killed and three families who have lost a loved one. In our standard idea of guilt and punishment this means three who are punished and three who learn to forget. There’s no way to imagine that both sides will ever meet.

Karl and Erik live in Norway. Karl killed Erik's 16-year-old daughter Ingrid-Elisabeth out of jealousy and returns to the small village, the neighborhood of the family of the killed, after a few years in prison.

Lisa and Leola are at home in the United States, in the New York Bronx. They have been waiting for eleven years for Sean, who has been sentenced to 40 years in prison, to admit that he killed her brother and son in anger.

Patrick lives in Germany. His father Gero von Braunmühl, a senior official in the Foreign Ministry, was killed in 1986 by the left-wing militant RAF group (Red Army Faction). There is a letter of confession, but the perpetrators remain unknown. Nevertheless, Patrick will find someone in the film - Manfred, another man who killed on behalf of the RAF.

This film tells the story of the unthinkable: To meet the enemy in thoughts, in messages and in real life. In Germany, in Norway and in the US.
