US-based Johnson & Johnson In big trouble - The govt has asked the company to pay compensation to patients in India for its faulty hip implant surgeries. In the latest in the case, the govt has launched a massive operation to identify the affected patients and provide compensation to them. Once the patients are identified, the government will decide on the quantum of compensation in each case and then approach J&J for claim settlement. The US giant is accused of selling faulty hip devices to over 4700 patients in the country - so far, four deaths have been reported and over 3600 patients with the hip surgeries are untraceable.
