How to terminate an epoxy marble floor in a garage

What we prefer to do when terminating an epoxy floor in a garage, is cut a keyway. This key that is cut (1/4” blade width, 1/4” deep) allows the epoxy a channel to fill up on the edge of the floor so that it does not have a singular bond to the horizontal surface alone. This is “key” 😂 in the integrity of the coating not allowing an edge to get constantly chipped at when use in normal garage traffic. This key will effectively disappear when it gets filled with epoxy and the floor will appear as if it is terminated on the horizontal surface only. The key gives the edge a great place to lock in and bite for the long haul. Try this out on your next metallic and let us know how you like it. We guarantee that it will at the least create a stronger floor even if you can’t see it. 👍🏼
