Barça travel to Tokyo
The flight took off at 4.15pm CEST heading to Japan, where the first team will play the first two friendlies of the 2019/20 pre-season
Towards Japan. Barça's expedition are on the way to Tokyo and the starting point for the FC Barcelona Japan Tour 2019 Presented by Rakuten. The flight took off at 4.15pm CEST from El Prat airport and is expected to arrive in the Japanese capital 13 and a half hours later.
There are 17 players available from the first team and nine from Barça B, and they will play two games against Chelsea (July 23, Tokyo) and against Vissel Kobe (July 27, Kobe). The latter is the team of former blaugranas Andrés Iniesta, David Villa and Sergi Samper.
The Barça expedition is led by President Josep Maria Bartomeu, the vice presidents Jordi Cardoner and Jordi Moix and the directors Dídac Lee, Josep Ramon Vidal-Abarca, Pau Vilanova, Emili Rousaud, Oriol Tomás and Marta Plana, as well as Teresa Basilio, delegate of Culture of the Board of Directors, and Òscar Grau, Club CEO. The Barça Rugby team are also travelling for the first time on a pre-season tour.
All of them will attend the first event on Barça's agenda in Japan, a reception offered by Rakuten in the Japanese capital. On behalf of Rakuten, the event will also be attended by its president and CEO Hiroshi Mikitani.
