There will always be a demand for fetching EDM vocals capable of taking well-produced beats to the charts. In two years of pursuing music full-time, Chelsea Cutler has done well with her gamble that she could be one of those voices. Now the Amherst dropout is rockin’ sets at top tier fests - Gov Ball, Bonnaroo and Lolla to name a few. Work with Kygo, Quinn XCII and Jeremy Zucker - a frequent collaborator and friend - has racked up tens of millions of views. “Sad Tonight,” which is already making a dent on radio, is about being stuck between moving on from heartbreak or wallowing in sadness, and the deeply catchy chorus chooses the latter. Chelsea debuted it on Seth Meyers, and it’s the first of 16 tracks from her new 'How To Be Human' album. Cutler came into the Vevo studio and completely flipped the script - Zedd-esque percussion replaced by acoustic guitar, synth strings with cello, swelling Rhodes with electric piano - and demonstrated a dynamic musicianship that far surpasses just her voice.
