Obsidian vs Chert! Which primitive stone knife will come out on top?
In this video, I will be testing the equivalent of a slab obsidian blade against a spalled "abo knapped" chert knife. I put these flint knapped stone knives to the test and see how using a chert knife and an obsidian knife compares. I do various cutting tests, checking for dulling, and the final durability "break test"
After more than a decade of flintknapping various cherts and obsidian, I've come to prefer the tougher cherts. I enjoy a primitive knife that can endure heavy use. How about you?
