South Korea's reported cases of the coronavirus COVID-19 nearly doubled, to more than 200. Most of the new cases are members of a religious sect, the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, and are centered in the city of Daegu. The outbreak makes South Korea the worst-affected country outside China. China has reported an uptick in coronavirus cases, with more than 400 new infections in Chinese prisons alone. Globally, the viral outbreak has infected some 76,000 people and killed more than 2,200. Meanwhile, there have been violent clashes in Ukraine over fears that evacuees arriving in the country from China were infected with the coronavirus.
