Ed Sheeran in profile

Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is a household name and one of the world's best-selling music artists. Born in Halifax, west Yorkshire, he began his career busking and posting songs on YouTube. His debut studio album Plus was released in 2011 and topped the charts in the UK and abroad. The A Team, a single from the album, won him an Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. In 2012, he won Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough. Sheeran appeared in 2019 film Yesterday and made a cameo in series seven of Game of Thrones. His latest album No.6 Collaborations Project topped the US and UK charts when it was released.
