Color Recipe:
Mix Versabond and Concrete bonding adhesive to a thick peanut butter consistency.
Score the surface of where your faux rock will be applied with a razor knife.
Apply the versabond as desired.
Work the versabond to achieve highs and lows, and natural stone textures with a putty knife, hardned paint roller, paint brush, and sponge.
Smooth the versabond when dry with a 50 grit sanding disk.
Use 100 grit sand paper on a random orbital sander to smooth the rock further.
Ease the edges of your MDF surface with the orbital sander to allow unrestricted epoxy flow over the edges.
Fog the Faux rock surfaces with Fossil, Copper, Aluminum, Black, and white Rustoleum spray paints.
Apply 2 coats of Behr paint and primer in one tinted to the color Broadway (black) onto the MDF surfaces.
Mix SCC Epoxy and tint 2 smaller cups of epoxy with SCC Black and White base color tints.
Pour Clear epoxy in random areas onto the MDF.
Fill in some areas with the Black tinted epoxy and repeat this with the White tinted epoxy.
Use a heat gun to move colors as desired.
Spray Seaside, Ocean mist, White, and Cobalt blue Rustoleum spray paints onto the end of a paint stick and drag each of these colors through the white areas of your project.
Use a heat gun to mix and meld colors together and bring your project to life!
Mist the White areas with SCC Ocean blue metallic powder mixed with 91% IPA.
