Getting started with Solar Power
A quick overview of the equipment you need to get started with Solar power.
Everything shown in this video that's required to get started with solar is available from CDRKING.
While I can recommend the CDRKING solar panels, you may want to invest in a high quality branded charge controller and inverter. The problem is managing to find branded products with warranty inside Manila or the Philippines as a whole.
To keep this video brief, I have not gone into a lot of detail about the number of panels required, the battery size and quantity, the limits of a charge controller, wiring and fuses etc. You should only use this as a starting point and carry out your own research before proceeding further.
The minimum hardware required for a solar setup like this would be a solar panel, a deep cycle battery, a charge controller and a DC to AC inverter.
The charge controller takes the fluctuating voltage and current from the solar panel and smooths it out to a voltage friendly for charging the deep cycle battery.
Deep cycle batteries are designed to be discharged and recharged many times. Unlike car batteries for example which are designed to supply a high amount of power for a brief amount of time to start the engine and not to be frequently or heavily discharged.
