Born in 1961, James Michael Stevens is a neoromantic composer residing in Nashville, Tennessee, where he serves as the Music Department Chairman of Welch College. He has degrees from Samford University, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and The University of Kentucky where he obtained a Doctorate in Music Composition.
He is a published composer of more than 500 songs with numerous companies : Warner Brothers, Shawnee Press, Lorenz, LifeWay, Hal Leonard, Sunmin Music (Korea)... Most of his compositions fall between the areas of choral and solo piano with his latest emphasis being on the piano. In Asia, his song « Without Love... We Have Nothing » is well known ; it has been recorded on more than 250 commercial CDs around the world and is one of the most popular wedding songs in Korea.
