Katy Perry Banned from China
Katy Perry has been banned from China… and that means she will not be performing at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Shanghai.<br /><br />The singer was set to perform at the tentpole event, but they’re gonna have to make do without her.<br /><br />According to Page Six, Perry was initially informed that she’d be able gain access to the country, but that decision was reversed after the government caught wind of a controversial incident in 2015 – when Katy wore a bright dress with sunflowers on it during a performance in Taipei.<br /><br />Why is that such a big deal?<br /><br />Because the sunflower had been adopted the year before by anti-China protestors… and she also waved a Taiwanese flag during the concert in a show of support for the country, which has been butting heads with China for years over its independence.<br /><br />She is reportedly being replaced by Harry Styles.<br />
