Hey Little Monsters welcome back to your music news on ClevverMusic. As promised Lady Gaga took over Good Morning America in NYC this morning September 9 to perform "Applause" with a twist. Theres no place like home, so Gaga performed in her native NYC a Dorothy Wizard of Oz themed broadway rendition of her new single. Gaga began the performance singing a beautiful a cappella cover of "Over the Rainbow" sitting on a yellow brick road, in the GMA studio. Wearing a straight black bob wig and white and blue plaid dress, Gaga fit the part as Dorothy. Of course, Fozzi was there as well, playing the part of Toto- so cute! Watching her sing on stage, was appropriately the scarecrow, tin man, and cowardly lion while the audience of Little Monsters wore red flower hats to emulate a beautiful field of poppies! The broadway performance continued with Gaga skipping down her very own yellow brick road announcing, "I live for your applause, shall we make our way to OZ?" Gaga then went into "Applause" and like her VMA performance it involved lots of transformations. Gaga first transformed into Glenda the Good Witch with yellow wig, pink dress and ruby red slippers and kept the energy going singing the chorus with full out dance choreography! Her third outfit was revealed under the pink dress as her black body suit and head wrap that weve seen before, and when the wicked witch of the west tries to sabotage her performance, Gaga snatches her green weave off her head and puts it on herself. And finally, Gaga emerges as the modern Dorothy: with a large hair bow and shoulder pad blazer. As you can see, Gaga has continued her theme of transformation with this "Applause" Broadway performance. And thats not all, she chatted with the GMA hosts afterwards, and explained the "GAGA OF OZ" performance saying, "For my entire career so far... and the transformations happening today...this is my way of surviving... getting to Oz, to have all my dreams come true." It seems just like Dorothy Gaga has had to get through all the negativity and criticism just as Dorothy got past the Wicked Witch and flying monkeys. In the interview Gaga also explained how ARTPOP is different from "Born This Way" saying, "I was actually going through a hard time during born this way... there was a lot of me putting things on to hide that sadness...[with ARTPOP] I feel overjoyed and filled with love."
