Little Monsters Im so thrilled to welcome you all back to ClevverMusic. As promised the 2013 MTV VMAs were kicked off by none other than Mother Monster with the live debut of her first ARTPOP single, "Applause" and turned it into a runway show. Lady Gaga revved up the show with a close up shot of just her face in a white cutout, looking like a proper nun as she started to sing new song "Aura" ending with "its show time!. The camera finally zooms out as we see Gaga in an all-white nun costume and the music stops. After a long pause and critical planned boos Gaga finally goes into her single Applause and here all black spandex dancers are revealed. The backdrop is a futuristic Monster jungle with the letters A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E is spelled out! Gaga struts around the stage as her dancers undress her white outfit revealing a sparkly black bodysuit! Not long after her Monster helpers transform Gaga into a blue blazer and skirt outfit complete with a blonde bob wig. Can we say "Fame" era anyone? It seems her "Applause" music video "transformation" theme is continuing with this first live performance of "Applause" ever. After walking around holding a ball high above her head, the highly skilled dancers help Gaga re-create her Applause cover art face paint right there on stage and she adds a yellow wig! Gaga ends the performance in (as I guessed it) her sea shell bikini look from the end of her "Applause" music video! And theres more! Before her big opening number, Gaga shocked us walking the red carpet in an all black leather look. She chatted with MTV host Sway while wearing circle shades and a long leather black gown and matching long black hair. On the carpet Sway asked Gaga if there will be any hip hop on ARTPOP album and heres what she revealed, "Ill give you one: Too Short... I said Too Short". Were so stoked Gaga has some rap help from Too Short- cant wait to hear what that sounds like! And speaking of rappers Gaga was super cute posing on the red carpet with none other than Busta Rhymes!
