Neil Young Says Protest Songs Are Dead

Neil Young states that musicians are able to write protest songs like they used to or at least they are not being broadcasted. While being interview on Marc Maron’s ‘WTF’ podcast he stated, “All 300 stations are playing the same thing.” His belief that even if someone were to write an amazingly powerful protest song, it would never reach the airways because what is play to the masses is extremely controlled by music and entertainment companies.
