Longing for a better life for his family, Manuel (Efren "Bata" Reyes) enlists the services of a recruiter who can help him go to Taiwan. The recruiter, however, turns out to be a swindler and takes all his hard-earned money along with his dreams. Manuel's ordeal turns for the worse when he gets caught up in several unfortunate events upon arriving in Manila. Luckily, Nanding (Fernando Poe Jr.), a man who has a soft spot for the weak, saves Manuel from another disaster and welcomes him into his own home. As a former billiards champion, Nanding discovers Manuel's extraordinary skills and makes him his playing partner. The tandem wins competitions one after another until Nanding's former promoter, Mr. Carreon (Pocholo Montes), enters the picture just in time to ruin what is slotted to be their biggest game yet.
