GPs in Shetland in association with the NHS (National Health Service) and RSPB (Royal Society for the Protecting of Birds) Scotland, will be able to prescribed nature to help with people's health and well being.

The Shetland Islands lie some 80 km (50 mi) to the northeast of Orkney, 168 km (104 mi) from the British mainland and 280 km (170 mi) southeast of the Faroe Islands. More than 100 islands (of which 15 are inhabited) are the northern most part of the British Isles. The closest mainland is the most northerly part of Scotland.
