Roy Horn to Madonna, notable names who caught COVID-19 in May

Magician Roy Horn, who alongside Siegfried Fischbacher starred in a popular, long-running Las Vegas act built around rare tigers, died on May 8 from of complications of COVID-19, the Las Vegas Review-Journal newspaper reported. He was 75.
Fischbacher and Horn, who were both born in Germany, co-founded their stage act after meeting on a cruise ship in the late 1950s before bringing the show to Las Vegas in 1967 and performing for the next four decades.
Horn was seriously injured in 2003 when he was mauled by a white tiger during a performance at the Mirage hotel in Las Vegas on his 59th birthday. The attack ended their show on the Las Vegas strip but the pair continued to make public appearances.
The Stranglers' keyboard player Dave Greenfield died age 71 on May 3, after testing positive for COVID-19 in hospital.
An announcement on the veteran British punk rock band's official website said Greenfield had been admitted to for heart problems, but tested positive on April 26. The band who had hits with "Golden Brown" and "No More Heroes" survived the fallout by constantly changing direction without losing its distinctive sound.
Greenfield joined the year-old band in 1975 when punk rock came kicking, screaming, and spitting into London in the late 1970s, but the whole era was washed away within two years in a hedonistic cocktail of drink, drugs and attitude.
On May 1 The Stranglers, who had hits with "Golden Brown" and "No More Heroes", announced on Twitter that they were cancelling their summer 2020 gigs due to the coronavirus pandemic.
British rapper Ty died May 7 after contracting pneumonia while recovering from coronavirus, according a statement by friend Diane Laidlaw on a fundraising page set up for the musician in April.
The Mercury Prize nominee for album "Upwards" who was in a "medically induced coma to temporarily sedate to help his body receive the appropriate treatment" contracted the virus earlier in the year, but "ultimately Ty's body couldn't fight back anymore", said Laidlow.
Madonna leads a host of stars who have said they caught COVID-19.
The singer-songwriter made the statement in a "Quarantine Diaries" video on her Instagram account, saying she took a test and found out she had the antibodies.
"The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" actor Tony Shalhoub said he and wife, actress Brooke Adams have had a "rough few weeks" on Seth MacFarlane's online "The At-Home Variety Show".
The OK Go lead singer Damian J. Kulash wrote in an open letter to fans that his symptoms were "genuinely scary for a day and a half" but his wife was briefly hospitalized.
