Thousands of miles away from home, dealing with the slow disintegration of a long-term relationship, and digesting a musical diet of classic American artists, from Hank Williams and Robert Johnson through to Neil Young and Tom Waits, the feel of classic Americana courses through this stripped back, heartfelt album. <br /> <br />The modern blues of Ups And Downs (a style recently bought to the fore by the likes of Seasick Steve) sits alongside the love-lorn, country tinged Americana of Another Lifetime (featuring the vocals of KT Tunstall) on an always direct and often heart-breakingly emotive and soul-bearing album. <br /> <br />Upon returning from 4 years spent largely on the road with KT, Sam has spent the last few months putting together a live band that could do justice to his solo material.
