So how do bloggers get paid? [I've quit high school teaching!]

How do bloggers get paid? Number one question I get asked when people find out I've quit my job as a high school teacher.

I'm Gemma from the popular travel platform, Two Scots Abroad. I started our travel blog in 2014 to document our career break to travel the Americas and Europe in 2015.

In 2016, I got serious and starting researching the more technical side of blogging which resulted in my page views tripling.

This gave me hope that I could move from hobby blogger to business.

I returned to full time high school teaching for one year then dropped down to part time before quitting this August. Although this sounds like a risk, it was a well-thought out business plan. You've got to be realistic.

In this video I discuss four ways that I make money from blogging which include:

1. Ads
2. Affiliates
3. Courses/presenting
4. Press trips

You need multiple income streams to get paid well through blogging, it's tough to juggle but worth it for the freedom to travel and so you can be your own boss [in a non-pyramid scheme kind of way!]
