Howdy, TV-holics! I'm Jager Weatherby from Wetpaint Entertainment, where we're getting pretty psyched for the U.S. premiere of The X Factor this fall. To pass the time, here are five fun tidbits you might not know about creator and judge Simon Cowell.
Back on American Idol, Simon liked to eat contestants for lunch. BUT he's actually a vegetarian. Huh... we always thought he was a steak and potatoes kinda guy.
Simon's a pretty awesome judge and all, but get a load of this — The notoriously harsh critic was once approached by a man who offered to pay him a six-figure sum to judge him and his wife doing the deed! Uhh... kinky much? Simon refused, but ended up regretting it.
Speaking of big mounds of money, in 2007, Mr. Cowell was offered one million pounds to be the face of Viagra. Again, he declined the opportunity, deeming it a total insult...
Considering he's the king of insults, he should know. Simon was pretty much born to be blunt. He dealt out his first brutally honest comment when he was just four years old... and it was to his mother, no less! When the poor woman donned a fuzzy white pillbox hat, Simon pointed out, "Mum, you look like a poodle!" Sweet kid.
Last but not least, here's a little something for all you X Factor hopefuls out there to throw in Simon's face if he ever gives you lip about needing voice lessons. Check this out — Simon was such a naughty student in school that he had to be transferred a total of 16 times for bad behavior. What's more, he dropped out when he was 16! Now who's uneducated?
