At The Smith Center for the Performing Arts. We are seeking powerful singers, versatile actors and dynamic dancers. All ages, races, sizes vocal ranges and style are encouraged to attend.

17 principle male roles
20 principle female roles
20 + Ensemble (will play multiple roles)
2 Female child role
1 Small Lap Dog – (auditions will be held at a later date)
Rappers, Acrobats, Magicians, and Specialty Acts
Singer/Actors
Please prepare 1 uptempo and 1 ballad of soul, blues and /or gospel-type songs of your choice. You may sing songs from the show. An accompanist will be provided, as well as a hookup to play CD’s and Ipods. (All songs MUST be sung in the original key.)

We are seeking non-professional & professional performers. There is no pay.
A Source of Joy Theatricals/Broadway In The Hood is a 501c3 non-profit that provides educational training classes in acting, singing, dancing, technical theatre, as well as theatre and production management. Our productions and events are built, cast, and run by youth between the age of 8 - 25 years old. Some of our cast and crewmembers have resided in shelters for battered women, youth and homeless shelters and are former drug dealers, gang bangers and prostitutes. Our focus is inspiring hope as well as giving our cast members the opportunity and tools to move on to higher education and peruse a career in the arts. Our goal is to produce free or low cost community productions and events so that everyone can have access to quality theatre and the arts. We are fully funded by donations, sponsorships and grants.
