BBC Newsnight (12/10/12) - Last from Studio TC7

The end of the final broadcast of the BBC's late evening news programme 'Newsnight' from Studio TC7 at Television Centre on Friday 12 October 2012. The programme is moving to Studio B within the recently completed facility at Broadcasting House in London W1 from Monday 15 October 2012.

The programme has a long tradition at TV Centre, and before that at the BBC's studios at Lime Grove. This move is part of the plan to consolidate most news media services at the news centre in Broadcasting House.

The echoed statement at the end, by Jeremy Paxman, is from an interview with Michael Howard where he asked the same question 14 times, without a straight answer.

'Paxo', as he is referred to by admirers and detractors alike, has later stated that the constant repetition was to fill time before the next item was available to play as there had been a technical issue. Meh! It was good telly!
