Halayang Langka Recipe
Ingredients
2 can (370ml) evaporated milk
1 cup fresh langka (jackfruit), chopped
1/3 cup sugar
½ cup powdered milk (add while cooking the mixture)
1 cup powdered milk (add after the mixture is cooked)
Yellow food color (optional)
Materials
Llanera or any container
Procedure
1. In a blender put chopped langka (jackfruit), sugar and a bit of evaporated milk (If you don’t have a blender just finely chopped langka and mix it with all the ingredients). Processed until smooth.
2. Add the rest of evaporated milk and processed until well blended.
3. Pour mixture into a pan. Stir regularly scraping bottom and sides of the pan until mixture is reduced.
4. Once it reduced add powdered milk and mix well. Drop yellow food color (optional) and mix well.
5. Cook until mixture has thickened and has greatly reduced in volume. Transfer in a bowl and let it cool
6. Add powdered milk into the halaya and mix well until well incorporated (promise it’s more delicious this way).
7. Transfer into a Llanera or any container. Chill in the ref until ready to serve.
