How To Make Tikoy 3 Ingredients
Happy Chinese New Year Everyone! Last year I made a video showing how to cook tikoy (nian gao). But now I’m going to show you how to make your own tikoy with only 3 ingredients.

How To Make Tikoy Recipe

Ingredients
2 cups glutinous rice flour
¾ cup brown sugar (you can add more or less sugar depends on how sweet you want it to taste)
1 cup water

Procedure
1. Dilute brown sugar in water. Add the brown sugar mixture to the glutinous rice flour. Mix until well combined.
2. Grease round cake pan well with cooking oil or melted butter so it would be easy to remove later. Pour mixture into the pan. Tap pan to spread mixture to the edges.
3. Put into the steamer. Cover with lid wrap in cheese cloth to avoid water dripping to the tikoy.
4. Steam for 45 minutes to 1 hour over medium heat or until the top of tikoy is firm. Remove from steamer and let it cool before removing from the pan.
5. Wrap in plastic wrap or wax paper. Refrigerate for 5 hours or overnight.
6. When ready to eat you can just reheat the tikoy in a microwave oven or fry it by dipping it in an egg so it won’t stick to the pan.
