This video will show you how to make latik from a can of coconut cream (also known as kakang gata). Latik is a coconut cream residue as a result of heating it for a long period of time. This is used as a topping for kakanin or desserts made from rice. Some examples are biko, sapin-sapin, and kalamay. It can also be topped on maja blanca, which is a Filipino dessert that makes use of cornstarch, and milk.
