How To Make Nilupak Na Cassava

In today’s video, I’m going to show you how to make nilupak na cassava or kamoteng kahoy (mashed cassava recipe), another pinoy delicacies. This is a simplier nilupak recipe you can do anytime anywhere. I’m been craving for this so please join me.

Nilupak Recipe:


2 kilos Cassava/kamoteng kahoy
1 ½ cups Grated Coconut
½ cup condensed milk
½ cup Sugar
½ cup melted butter
Grated cheese for toppings (optional)


1. Put cassava in a casserole filled with water enough to immerse it. Then add a pinch of salt, bring to a boil until cassava is soft/
2. Meanwhile, combine grated coconut and sugar in a bowl. Mix well.
3. When cassava is cooked, put in a large sturdy bowl. Remove the roots at middle of the cassava. Then using a potato masher, mash it until you achieve the consistency that you desired. You may also use a pounder or a pestle for this step.
4. Gradually add all the remaining ingredients in the mashed cassava, mix and make sure that all are incorporated well.
5. Taste to check the sweetness. Adjust if necessary.
6. In a container of your choice, grease lightly with butter then put the nilupak. You may also top it with grated cheese.
