Katy Perrys first Prism single titled "Roar" officially dropped today August 12! However, Katycats were treated to the inspiring new track on August 10th due to an online leakage, sadly its pretty common these days for a song to leak a couple days early. But no need to fear: the sound isnt too far from Katys Teenage Dream days as she teased us with in her Roar promo videos, where she burned her blue wig and buried her peppermint dress! "Roar" reminds us of uplifting hit "Firework" mixed with a little Jock Jams power. The thumping pop track chorus chants, "I got the eye of the tiger, the fire/ Dancing through the fire, cause I am a champion/ And youre gonna hear me roar". Katy dropped a cute text message lyric video for the track today complete with cat emojis. And whats this we hear about people thinking her song sounds like Sara Barailles song "Brave"? We dont think Katy sounds like anyone but herself, and we like this new "Roar" song! What we dont like are drunk drivers. Over the weekend in Pennsylvania, a driver hit Katys gold "Prism" semi truck, totaling the cab of the truck. Luckily, everyone involved is said to be "OK" and no Katy wasnt in the truck, but lets hope this and Katys new song sends a positive message to all.
