Pasay Mayor Vendor Clearing

Pasay Mayor orders the clearing of some vendors in Baclaran.

The MMDA have been operating 2-shifts a day in Baclaran for the last 4 weeks. I’ve been covering their traffic enforcement but not shooting any footage related to vendors.

I was told the new Mayor of Pasay has ordered the following:

- The removal of the fixed tents across KFC which were meant to be used as organized vendor stalls but were instead being used as storage areas while vendors continued to operate in the road

- A ban on all wheeled / mobile vending carts

- No more vendors allowed on the road

I believe the organized vendors that occupy some sidewalks will still be allowed, provided they follow certain requirements and limits.

I have not spoken to the Mayor so take this information with a pinch of salt. But based on the actions of the clearing teams, it appears to be accurate.

Todays operation was very long and includes a LOT of footage that will take me a long time to edit and blur.

- 80% of todays footage is related to traffic enforcement such as illegal parking, no helmet, no license and that kind of thing.

- 10% is about an MMFF event at MMDA Orense office which included Danny Lim, Tim Orbos, Bong Go, Congressman Fernandez and other VIPs.

- 9% is miscellaneous like sewer cleaning for flood control

- 1% is about the changes to vendors per orders of the Mayor
