NOVEMBER is coming...

And so is ALL SOULS DAY :

The day when we remember and honor our loved ones...

The day when we reminisce those happy days we had with them...

The day when we offer prayers and visit their final resting place.

Aside from my dearly departed family members and friends...

I would like to remember and honor one special person who has touched millions of Filipino lives...

Ronald Allan Kelley Poe (aka Fernando Poe, Jr.):

The King of Philippine Movies...

The Actor ... The Legend ...

THE MAN WHO SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE 14th PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES.

Here is a short account of the event leading to his death and thereafter:

"...Poe was admitted to Saint Luke's Medical Center in Quezon City on the evening of December 11, 2004 after complaining of dizziness at a gathering in his production studio premise.

He suffered from a stroke and slipped into a coma while being treated for a brain clot.
Doctors described his condition as a cerebral thrombosis with multiple organ failure.

He died at the age of 65 on December 14 at 12:01 am, without regaining consciousness.

Friends and allies from the movie and political worlds were at his bedside.

He left behind his wife actress Susan Roces and adopted daughter, Mary Grace.
His other known children were Ronian and Lovi.

The nine day wake was attended by hundreds of thousands, with organizers claiming numbers as high as two million.

The funeral procession drew tens of thousands who crowded the streets of Quezon City, an event that was reminiscent of the funeral processions of Ninoy Aquino in 1983 and matinee idol Julie Vega, in 1985.

He was buried in his family plot along with his father and mother in North Cemetery, Manila, Philippines..." (source: Wikipedia).

His friend and fellow actor former President Joseph Ejercito Estrada wrote a song in his honor :
