Puto Sambo
ingredients:
3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups white sugar
3 1/2 tbsp baking powder
2 tbsp cooking oil
1 cup powdered milk
3 tbsp cocoa powder
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 tbsp vanilla extract
3 cups water
For toppings:
Cheese
chocolate chips
we need:
large molders
Procedure:
1) Bring 1 liter of water to a boil
2) In a bowl combine all purpose flour, salt and baking powder. Mix well amd set aside
3) In a separate bowl combine water, powdered milk and sugar
4) Add vanilla extract and mix well
5) Combine dry and wet ingredients. Mix well
6) Add cooking oil and mix well
7) Strain mixture
8) Divide mixture into two
9) Add cocoa powder into the other half of the mixture. Mix well
10)Pour chocolate puto batter half way or 1 1/2 tbsp per molder
11)Steam for 7-8 minutes over low heat. *Do not forget to wrap the lid with clean cloth to avoid water from dripping into the puto
12)pour white puto batter on top
13)Add toppings
14)Steam again for 10-15 minutes
15)Let it cool and unmold
