What position should the Saints target in the first round of the 2020 draft?

With the Saints’ first round pick, Carter has New Orleans selecting Oklahoma LB Kenneth Murray with the #24 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Murray is arguably the best blitzing linebacker in this year’s class & will be an immediate starter on this Saints roster. Other players considered include Justin Jefferson, Laviska Shenault, Henry Ruggs, Jordan Love & Patrick Queen.

The Saints don’t have a 2nd round pick, so in the 3rd round of this Saints Mock, Carter has New Orleans selecting Lynn Bowden Jr. out of Kentucky. Bowden Jr. is one of the most versatile NFL draft prospects in this year’s class. He played QB for the majority of the 2019 season, but put up ridiculous numbers as a rusher & also had solid production as a receiver. He will be a Taysom Hill type player who can line up at WR or in the backfield.

Plus, in our latest 7-round NFL Mock Draft for the New Orleans Saints, we have New Orleans adding offensive weapons in Jauan Jennings & Cheyenne O’Grady. The Saints lack depth at WR opposite of Michael Thomas & the Saints are thin at tight end behind Jared Cook & Josh Hill. Finally, Carter has the Saints selecting Washington CB Myles Bryant in the 6th round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
