The wrestling entertainment legend known as "Rowdy" Roddy Piper has died at his Hollywood, California, home.<br />He was 61.<br />Officials stated the cause of death appears to be natural.<br />Piper, whose real name is Roderick George Toombs, joined World Wrestling Entertainment in 1984; before that he wrestled in the NWA.<br />Piper was known for his on-air feud with Hulk Hogan, including the infamous War to Settle the Score bout held a few months before the first WrestleMania in 1985.<br />He and "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff faced Hogan and Mr. T during the first WrestleMania, known now as "one of the marquee main events in its history."<br />Piper was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.
