Wrestling Legend Rowdy Roddy Piper Dies Aged 61

WWE Hall of Famer Rowdy Roddy Piper died of natural causes at his home in Hollywood. Piper had been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2006 but last autumn said he was cancer-free.<br />Piper’s agent Jay Schacter confirmed the news, first reported by TMZ, to Variety.<br />Schacter said in an email that Rod died in his sleep and that he was quote shocked and beyond devastated. Piper, whose signature move was the sleeper hold, held many titles such as Intercontinental Champion, World Tag Team Champion, and World Championship Wrestling US Champion. He was one of six WWE Hall of Fame Inductees in 2005 during his powerful career which included acting.
