Steamed Puto Cheese

Ingredients:

2 cups all purpose flour, sifted
1.5 cup granulated sugar, sifted
1 tbsp baking powder
3/4 cup milk
1 cup water
4 tbsp butter softened
1 egg
Sliced cheddar cheese singles

Method:

1. Sift the flour, sugar, baking powder into a mixing bowl. Whisk until it’s well combined.
2. Add the egg, softened butter, milk and water.
Whisk until its smooth with no lumps. You can use a mixer to whisk faster.
3. Fill the silicone molders 3/4 full with the batter. Prepare your steamer.
4. Carefully transfer the molds into a steamer.
5. Cover the lid with a cloth to prevent the moisture getting into the batter. If your not using a silicone molds, steam them longer. You will know it’s done when an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
6. One minute before the puto has finished steaming, place the cheese on top. Continue to steam it until the cheese is melted.
7. Allow the puto to cool, remove them from the silicone molds, serve and enjoy.

Puto Cheese is great with coffee in the morning 😋.....Have fun!
