Die ersten 3 Filme veranschaulichen mit optisch attraktiven und klar gegliederten Computeranimationen den Aufbau und das Funktionsprinzip eines Viertakt-Ottomotors. Im Film dient ein stilisierter Vierzylinder-Vierventil-Motor als modellhaftes Beispiel.

Realaufnahmen von Automobiltechnik in Alltag, Motorsport und Fabrikation erhielten wir von den Firmen AUDI, BMW, DAIMLER, FORD, HONDA und PORSCHE, denen an dieser Stelle für die Unterstützung gedankt sei.
Der vierte Film "Motorenmuseum" ist eine Realdokumentation diverser Motoren-Originalexponate des Technikums der DEUTZ AG, der wir für Ihre Unterstützung ebenfalls danken.

As always we film these with our high speed cameras to catch the action as you'd never see it with your eyes. This is easy to do so if you film your own, feel free to make it a video response!

We used Crayons as the tips and much to my surprise we could use nearly full-sized Crayons. You can see the progress as we experimented with different lengths of crayons.
It seems the majority of viewers want to see battles rather than a single beyblade doing strange things so I incorporated some battle scenes with my the same 2 original beyblades I have done everyone from light on fire to attach exacto blades to.

Flickering and strobing is all too common in video footage. It can be caused by a number of factors, but a lot of the time it’s simply a mismatch in refresh rates between the lighting in your shot, and the fps (frames-per-second) setting of your camera.

The big problem is, you won’t notice it until after you’ve finished your shot and you’re reviewing your footage (or worse, when you’re in post-production!)

Fortunately, there’s an awesome plugin that can quickly and easily fix the strobing/flickering in your footage! It’s already saved me countless hours patching up footage shot by clients… In this video, we run through what it is and how to use it.

Educational video describing stingray injuries.
Most stingrays have one or more barbed stings on the tail, which are used in self-defense. They will not attack humans but they will defend themselves when threatened especially when stepped on. Stingrays cause around 1500 injuries per year and are caused by puncture from their strong serrated, bony spine or barbs. The tail contains a sheath that will discharge venom once it is ruptured.
If you are stung by a stingray, clean the injury with soap and water. Make sure the spine is completely removed and use hot water (45 degrees C or 110 degrees F) in order to decrease the pain caused by the poison. Venom from the Stingray is thermolabile, which means that it will decompose with heat. The foot or leg is the most common area affected by these injuries due to stepping on the stingray which causes the tail to be thrust upward and forward.
Effects of the venom include constriction of the blood vessels and tissue necrosis. The patient will feel extreme pain and may experience edema and swelling. Sometimes a fragment of the barb may be stuck inside the wound and this may cause an infection.
Surgical exploration may be needed and the use of ultrasound is helpful in detecting the barb fragment.
The patient will typically recover with a positive outcome. Fatalities from these types of injuries are rare, but are possible such as the case of Steve Irwin.
In order to prevent stingray injuries it is recommended :
•Before entering the water, look for posted warning signs.
•Before entering murky water poke around with a stick
•Keep away from or be aware of Stingray gathering places, especially under piers and shallow water.
•Use protective water shoes, boots or stingray guards.
•Never swim over moving stingrays
•Slide your feet along the bottom as the stingray will notice your presence and swim away.

Ride along on the Hot Wheels car as it travels through 8 different track sections all connected by teleporting tunnels. From the backyard to the big hill to the pool and back, this track’s got it all.

Each section worked on its own from tunnel to tunnel. The cart is powered entirely by gravity at all times.

In total there are 11 cuts in the video, 7 between locations and 4 for slow motion footage. The jump section and the loop section were filmed twice, once in 30 fps and again in 120 fps, and the final video cuts from the normal speed footage to the slow motion footage for the duration of both the jump and the loop.

The cart worked reasonably well underwater and only fell off the pool track a few times. The main problem with the pool track was keeping the track connected and in place. A rock was attached to the end of the track in order to weigh it down.

In total about 200 feet of track was used, nearly all of which is present in the 4th section. Filmed with a GoPro Hero4 Session mounted on a modified 2014 Pharadox car. Filmed in California and Colorado.

Detailed information for the tricks in the video:

1. Slow motion ball:

You need a thick liquid, preferably honey, a heavy ball, and a sphere shaped container. Place the heavy ball in the lower half of the sphere. Fill the lower half of the container with honey a little more than half.
If you use too little or too much, it will affect the motion of the ball.

2. Water fire starter. Credit goes to The King of Random for this idea. Be sure to check out his channel. He has a huge selection of amazing how to experiments. https://www.youtube.com/user/01032010814

You need a plastic or glass container with a curved area. The Pom bottles work great. Fill the bottle with water. Fold 2 sheets of paper in half, twice. Print or scribble a black mark on one of the sheets. On a sunny day hold the bottle near the paper, focusing the light on the black area of the paper. Once it starts to smoke and a hole begins to form, wrap the other sheet of paper around the smoking piece. Wave the papers through the air to feed oxygen to the spark. Continue this until the paper catches on fire.

3. No-leak magic bag:
Al you need is a zip baggy, pencils and water. Fill the bag almost to the top. Zip it shut, and start sticking pencils through the bag. Sometimes a few drops will leak out, but overall, this is a simple yet impressive trick

4. Liquid Stacking:
You'll need a tall glass or bottle. Dish Soap, vegetable oil, dark corn syrup, rubbing alcohol, water and food coloring.

First add the dark corn syrup, then dish soap, then add food coloring to the water and pour it in with the bottle tilted, then add the vegetable oil (bottle tilted), and finally add food coloring to the alcohol and pour it in with the bottle tilted.

5. Invisible Bottle:

You need glycerin, a glass and a bottle that will fit in the glass. Fill both glass and bottle with glycerin and place the bottle in the glass. It looks like the bottle disappears.

6. Dancing Liquid:

You need a powered speaker, a tone generator (can be found online), corn starch, water and plastic to protect the speaker. Pour 1/2 cup of corn starch in a bowl and 1/4 cup of water. Mix. Pour the liquid into the speaker and generate a 60hz tone.

7. Magic Water Barrier:

You need 2 of the same glasses. Hot water, cold water, food coloring and a thin piece of plastic or cardboard. Pour the hot water in 1 glass, the cold in the other glass, add food coloring, then place the plastic on top of the hot water glass. Turn the glass upside down, place it on top of the cold water glass, then carefully remove the plastic. Hot water is less dense than cold water, so it "floats" on top of the cold water.

8. Leidenfrost effect:

You need a pan, water and a stove. Turn the heat on high for about 4 minutes then add the water. This experiment can stain your pans.

9. Reverse Illusion:

Add all sorts of images or words behind a glass, then watch as it reverses when you add water in the glass.

10. Reversing Liquid:

You need 1 big glass, 1 smaller glass, 3 mixing glasses, corn syrup, pipettes, food coloring, and clips.

First pour the corn syrup into the 2 bigger glasses. Place the smaller glass inside of the bigger glass. Attach the clips to prevent the smaller glass from moving side to side in the bigger glass. Pour a small amount of corn syrup into the 3 mixing glasses. Add food coloring and stir. Fill each pipette with a different color, then add the colored corn syrup to your big glass. Turn the smaller glass carefully and watch the colors mix. Turn it back and watch them unmix.

Voracious, venomous and hella leggy, house centipedes are masterful predators with a knack for fancy footwork. But not all their legs are made for walking, they put some to work in other surprising ways.

Recognizable for their striking (some might say, repulsive) starburst-like shape, house centipedes have far fewer than the 100 legs their name suggests. They’re born with a modest eight, a count that grows to 30 as they reach adulthood.

If 30 legs sound like more than one critter really needs – perhaps it is. Over the last 450 million years or so, when centipedes split off from other arthropods, evolution has turned some of those walking limbs into other useful and versatile tools.

When it hunts, for example, the house centipede uses its legs as a rope to restrain prey in a tactic called “lassoing.” The tip of each leg is so finely segmented and flexible that it can coil around its victim to prevent escape.

The centipede’s venom-injecting fangs, called forciples, are also modified legs. Though shorter and thicker than the walking limbs, they are multi-jointed , which makes them far more dexterous than the fangs of insects and spiders, which hinge in only one plane.

Because of this dexterity, the centipede’s forciples not only inject venom, but also hold prey in place while the centipede feeds. Then they take a turn as a grooming tool. The centipede passes its legs through the forciples to clean and lubricate their sensory hairs.

Scientists have long noticed that because of their length and the fact that the centipede holds them aloft when it walks, these back legs give the appearance of a second pair antennae. The house centipede looks like it has two heads.

In evolution, when an animal imitates itself, it’s called automimicry. Automimicry occurs in some fish, birds and butterflies, and usually serves to divert predators.

New research suggests that’s not the whole story with the house centipede. Electron microscopy conducted on the centipede’s legs has revealed as many sensory hairs, or sensilla, on them as on the antennae.

The presence of so many sensory hairs suggest the centipede’s long back legs are not merely dummies used in a defensive ploy, but serve a special function, possibly in mate selection. During courtship, both the male and female house centipede slowly raise and lower their antennae and back legs, followed by mutual tapping and probing.

Though they do have venom, house centipedes don’t typically bite humans.

--- Where do house centipedes live?

House centipedes live anywhere where the humidity hovers around 90 percent. That means the moist places in the house: garages, bathrooms, basements. Sometimes their presence can indicate of a leaky roof or pipe.

--- Do house centipedes have 100 legs?

No. An adult house centipede has 30. Only one group of centipedes, called the soil centipedes, actually have a hundred legs or more.

The story opens with a prologue in which a veteran brings his family to the American cemetery at Normandy, and a flashback then joins Capt. John Miller (Tom Hanks) and GIs in a landing craft making the June 6, 1944, approach to Omaha Beach to face devastating German artillery fire. This mass slaughter of American soldiers is depicted in a compelling, unforgettable 24-minute sequence. Miller's men slowly move forward to finally take a concrete pillbox. On the beach littered with bodies is one with the name "Ryan" stenciled on his backpack. Army Chief of Staff Gen. George C. Three fifths of the Earth's surface is under the ocean, and the ocean floor is as rich in detail as the land surface with which we are familiar. This animation simulates a drop in sea level that gradually reveals this detail. As the sea level drops, the continental shelves appear immediately. They are mostly visible by a depth of 140 meters, except for the Arctic and Antarctic regions, where the shelves are deeper. The mid-ocean ridges start to appear at a depth of 2000 to 3000 meters. By 6000 meters, most of the ocean is drained except for the deep ocean trenches, the deepest of which is the Marianas Trench at a depth of 10,911 meters.

🌟Fun fact:
The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)
Blacksmith Will Turner teams up with eccentric pirate Captain Jack Sparrow to save Turner's love, Elizabeth Swann, from undead pirates led by Jack's mutinous former first mate, Captain Barbossa. Jack wants revenge against Barbossa, who left him stranded on an island before stealing his ship, the Black Pearl, along with 882 pieces of cursed Aztec Gold.

Dead Man's Chest (2006)
Lord Cutler Beckett of the East India Trading Company arrests Will and Elizabeth for aiding Captain Jack Sparrow in the previous film. Beckett offers clemency if Will agrees to search for Jack's compass in a bid to find the Dead Man's Chest – and inside, the heart of villainous Davy Jones – which would give Beckett control of the seas. However, Jack wants the Chest to escape from an unpaid debt with Jones, who raised the Black Pearl from the seabed (after it was sunk by Beckett) and made Jack captain for 13 years in exchange for 100 years of service aboard Jones' ship.

At World's End (2007)
Lord Beckett gains power over Davy Jones, and with the help of Jones' ship, the Flying Dutchman, he is now executing his plans to extinguish piracy forever. To stand against the East India Trading Co., Will, Elizabeth, Barbossa, and the crew of the Black Pearl set out to rescue Captain Jack Sparrow from Davy Jones' Locker. As one of the Nine Pirate Lords, Jack is needed in order to summon an ancient goddess with the power to defeat Beckett's forces.

Captain Jack Sparrow is on a quest to find the fabled Fountain of Youth and crosses paths with a former lover, Angelica. She forces Jack aboard the Queen Anne's Revenge, a ship captained by the infamous pirate Blackbeard, Angelica's father. Both are also in search of the Fountain; Angelica to save her father's soul, Blackbeard to escape a prophecy of his demise at the hands of a one-legged man. Joining the hunt is former pirate captain Barbossa, now a privateer in King George II's Navy, who is in a race against the Spanish for the Fountain of Youth.

I run the see-through rotary engine Full Throttle to see what maximum rpm is that this engine can crank out using a non-contact tachometer to measure the actual RPM number.

I got curious and decided to measure the accuracy of the non-contact tachometer, is it was extremely accurate.
in the previous video, I stayed at 18000 RPM because that's what the owner's manuals says, I think it was more like 22000 RPM that's my guess.
in the first run in this video I got about 23,000 RPM I saw that was pretty amazing but then I lean out the mixture and I got a whopping 29,000 RPM, I had no idea the Wankel rotary engine can get up to such a high RPM.

Watch an ultra slow-mo explanation of the scrub by the man who brought it to moto: James Stewart.

No riding technique has revolutionized modern motocross like the Bubba Scrub. When James Stewart hopped on the pro scene in 2002 at a ripe 16, he brought with him enough youthful exuberance to shame a Justin Bieber concert. What’s more, it showed in his riding. Stewart was always an animated rider, moving all over the bike when he was on the track.

During his early years as a pro, he developed a technique of throwing the bike sideways on the face of jumps, which allowed him to hit the jumps with more speed while at the same time staying lower than other riders. This ultimately allowed him to put power to the ground more quickly. What became known as the Bubba Scrub not only helped lap times, it also looked awesome.

ABOUT THIS LIGHTNING STORM
Specific conditions made this storm extremely special. Anvil Crawler lighting, also know as spider lightning is not uncommon, However because they occurs at such high altitudes, there’s usually low level clouds and rain hiding them from view. It takes special cloud and rain free conditions near a powerful thunderstorm to reveal them to you.

ANVIL CRAWLER FACTS
Anvil crawler lightning behaves different then typically observed cloud to ground lightning strikes. They propagate slower and horizontally. In a typical lightning strike, leaders move too fast for the human eye to detect. But in anvil crawler lightning, you can actually see the leaders searching for opposite charged regions of the cloud to connect to.

Slow motion video helps reveal that anvil crawlers are comprised of two main events. First, leaders typically growing and branching out horizontally followed by return strokes, the flickering solid line discharges. Some anvil crawlers are conjoined with a cloud to ground lightning strike and others remain completely intra-cloud.

One particular capture from this evening is extra special! From the top of a small mountain pointing the camera straight up I recorded the birth of an anvil crawler. This rare close proximity to the camera, slow motion documentation brought to light a phenomenon I’ve never witnessed in such detail. The increased luminosity of the leader tips appearing like blue headlights searching along dark windy highways.

ANVIL CLOUD FACTS?
When a thunderstorm explodes in our troposphere, it can only rise so far before hitting a ceiling. We call this the tropopause. The updraft then spreads outward like smoke under a table. From a distance, the storm takes on the appearance of an anvil. So we call the spreading flat top of a cumulonimbus an anvil cloud.

From above, Anvil clouds can flare out covering entire states. Underneath, the are often garnished with mammatus clouds and set the stage for spectacular sunsets. It’s here where Anvil crawler lightning does what the name implies.

So as simple of a question as this is, it turns out to be a MAJOR POINT OF STUDY in Physics, Robotics, Space Satellite Control, Weapons Development, Biomedical Engineering, etc. It's stumped scientists and engineers since Newton's day. Here's something interesting. The cat isn't twisting his back.. he's actually BENDING it. The next video will go into great detail about what's going on there, and explain how it relates to studying the farthest points in the universe (Seriously... the fact that a cat can do this allows us to study the Universe.. no exaggeration).

Sloths are known for how slowly they move, but their slow speed isn't just a funny quality they have— it's part of why their species has survived for 64 million years.

Three-toed sloths are the slowest mammals on Earth, but you shouldn't assume they're just lazy. Sloths are slow for a reason... survival!

They've been on Earth for 64 million years. For comparison, modern humans have been around for 200,000 years. This slow behavior means they don't expend much energy. So, they don't need to eat a lot. A sloth can take up to 50 days to digest a meal. They have the slowest metabolism of any non-hibernating mammal.

Since they're rarely desperate for another meal, they don't have to fight for food with hungrier animals. There's just one downside. Being slow means sloths can't outrun predators. Instead, sloths outsmart predators by relying on camouflage, such as algae that grows on their fur. Their main predators rely on sight and movement. So, sloths often go unnoticed by blending in and moving slowly.

Sometimes slow and steady wins the race.

Coyote Peterson rarely gets nervous around the animals he encounters and is quite proud that he has never been stung by a scorpion before…but today that’s all about to change! On this episode Coyote is putting himself right in the strike zone and will intentionally take a sting from the Giant Desert Hairy Scorpion; the largest scorpion in North America! Yes that’s right, stung by a scorpion on purpose!

While seemingly foolish and NEVER recommended, the intention of this demonstration will aim to make the point that not all scorpions should be vilified as lethal killers. While it is true that some scorpions are incredibly dangerous the venom from the Giant Desert Hairy is really nothing worse than a bee sting. However, that’s not to say it isn’t creepy and nail biting…hold onto your seat…this episode is intense!
